: For your comic relief, I will share one quick story from this morning..more of a warning to all of you that have old corell out there, lurking in your cabinets...waiting...
Everyone knows that if you drop Corell dishes, they dont break. Unbelievable stuff! You think to yourself, "self, this stuff is great!. I dropped this plate and it didnt break..WOOHOO!" well, dont be so self assured. All those drops build up over the years. Like a bank account of mayhem waiting to happen. Sometimes, it's that last drop that does it...it hits the floor and explodes in little Corell shards across the floor and you think "damn...I guess they can break" but sometimes, the destruction is sneaky, hidden, lurking! Like what happened to my bowl this morning..... I'm innocently sitting on the couch (already late, mind you) trying to woof down a bowl of cereal. I get 1 (yes folks ONE) bite of cereal into my mouth and I hear CRACK! I look down and in my hands where a bowl of cereal once was, is a pile of white Corell shards, cereal and whats left of the milk not streaming down my lap into the couch! I'm in such disbelief, I actually sit there for 3 heart beats my brain trying to make sense of what I'm looking at before mad-dashing for the kitchen sink to try and get at least some of the milk down the drain. Now I'm standing there..I'm soaked, the couch is soaked (and we all know what happens if you dont clean up spilled milk) I'm WAAAAY late for work and it's most definitely Monday. Yes my friends, Corelle DOES break. So, beware that innocent looking plate or bowl...it's time could be almost up. I worry that I have 8 more of those landmines in the cabinet..what will it be next time? Spaghetti? Matzo soup? clam chowder?
